How To Save Your Lipstick from Melting This Summer!
It happens to even the most careful among us.
Cosmetics are sensitive to heat, light, humidity and temperature variations. Heat has bad effects on your lipsticks, creams and other beauty products altering their colour, texture and odour. Let us give you a few examples.
Has it ever happened to you where you forgot your lipstick in the car and came back to find a melted gooey mess? Or your favourite lipstick has somehow disfigured in the unreasonably warm weather in your bag?
Grieving its loss is a common reaction and it can be upsetting, but the good news is you will most probably still be able to use your lipstick. How? Well, we have a couple of tips for you so you can rock your favourite matte lipstick shade in every season and on every occasion.
If you forget your lipstick under the heat of the sun or if it wasn’t stored in a cool dry place, chances are it will melt and stick either to the cap or the lipstick container. We recommend you don’t break the tip off, instead try straightening it using your fingers and hold it in place for a few seconds. Next thing you do is pop it in the fridge for one hour. Make sure the lipstick stays in the fridge for one full hour so the formula gets ample time to solidify.
If your lipstick has morphed into something completely un-useable and has changed its shape, you can repot the product. Scoop out all the product by using a small stick like a toothpick and place it into a small container. Then either crush or melt the product down in the container. You can try the candle and metal spoon combo [many tutorials available on YouTube], or simply place it in a microwaveable container and microwave it for a few seconds. Allow the product to cool down.
You can now continue applying it with a brush or just use your fingers. We hope you find this article helpful and instead of throwing your lipstick in the bin, throw it in the fridge and wear it all summer long. Don't forget to check out our matte lipstick shades on our online cosmetics store.
